Become an urban outlaw equipped with cybernetic enhancements and build your legend on the streets of Night City. CD Projekt Red today announced Cyberpunk 2077's expansion via a surprise teaser trailer. The clip shares a few details about the plot, characters, setting, and release date of the upcoming DLC. However, one of the most important details is that it won't be coming to last-gen consoles. Upon reloading, the items rarity could change—along with number of mod slots (if applicable). The item itself, however, always remains the same, including its base stats. Since then, developer CD Projekt Red has released a variety of patches designed not just to improve those versions of the game but fundamentally fix them. So is Cyberpunk 2077 finally playable on those consoles? Well, to paraphrase one of my favorite Simpsons quotes, it ain’t getting any more playable, that’s for sure. So on the one hand, I feel comfortable saying that Cyberpunk 2077’s historically bad technical issues have been improved enough to allow the game’s best qualities to shine brighter than ever. There’s also something to be said for distancing yourself from expectations. Now that we know exactly what Cyberpunk 2077 is, it’s much easier to appreciate it for what it is.

As of now, the details for what is in this eventual patch are unclear, as is the date and the steps players will need to take. It is a strange marker of current video game culture that this is the thing that we most desire, since by definition the entirety of a video game environment is a technical illusion to make a player feel important. The people on the sidewalk in any given game are not there to be full people. They are there to give context, and a certain aesthetic feeling, to a player speeding by them in a souped-up future car. If there is a key maneuver in patch 1.5, it is that these fantasies seem to be fulfilled. NPCs interact minimally with their environment, and they panic when gunfire starts nearby. They behave “realistically,” and like most of the non-player content in the game, seem to be a drastic leap forward from the videos you might remember from the disturbingly gleeful “ look at this shit” responses that highlighted technical problems in 2020. The difference comes down to “floor and ceiling” performances. The PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 was by far the best version of the game at launch, so it also required the fewest significant performance upgrades/fixes (relatively speaking). In other words, CD Projekt Red was instead able to focus on optimizing the PC version of the game sooner than they were able to focus on optimizing the console versions of the game.

All other visual effects and graphics preset are identical between both platforms. Xbox Series X runs the game with a ray-tracing mode at 30 FPS while a Performance mode bumps the frame rate to 60 FPS. There are no ray-traced reflections but local shadows are enhanced while the reflections are improved with a higher quality SSR. Includes Collector's Edition box with physical goodies such as Collectible SteelBook, 10 inch statue, Hardcover art book, Metal pin set, Quadra V-tech metal keychain, and more! In February 2022, CD Projekt released a substantial patch, version 1.5, for Cyberpunk 2077. It contains a large number of tweaks and fixes, some new content, and native support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Reading the patch notes is a lengthy time commitment, but the general gist is that CD Projekt has overhauled some part of nearly every game system in Cyberpunk 2077, from combat AI, to player stat functions, to the economy, to the way that vehicles work. Discover the massive open world of Night City. Every choice you make in this city affects the world around you.

Next, you want to have Chromatic Aberrationset to on. This is more of a stylistic choice than one that impacts performance, so if you dislike the effect you can certainly turn it off. What it does is create those rainbow-looking lighting effects on light sources. Since Night City is full of bright neon signs, and the cyberpunk genre is somewhat known for this visual style, we think it lends to the visuals rather than take anything away. I should also note that CD Projekt Red isn’t done improving the PS5/Xbox Series X versions of the game. They can only theoretically get better from here, though I suspect most future improvements will focus on bug fixes and optimizations rather than any kind of sweeping updates that make the game look like it was developed for next-gen hardware right from the start. Is the PC Version of Cyberpunk 2077 Still the Best Version of the Game? And that’s it! Rinse and repeat until the drop box runs out of money, and then go find another one. A lot of buzz has been growing around the internet concerning how Cyberpunk 2077runs on the Xbox One and PS4 generation consoles. The developers clearly targeted high performing PCs when designing the game, and even those players are having some issues running the game well. The Series X does help out a bit, but considering the game isn’t yet optimized for next-generation consoles, the experience isn’t as good there as one would hope either. Still, if you were looking forward to playing Cyberpunk 2077on your base Xbox One, the experience is likely disappointing. Obviously, consoles are not as customizable as PCs, but there are still a few settings you can tweak to squeeze out the best possible performance while we wait for the developers to come out with some patches. Here are the settings that will give you the best performance boost. See More

Cyberpunk 2077

It is worth thinking here about the decisions behind a major patch like this, which focuses almost entirely on the technical and gameplay sides of the game. There’s been no attempt to soften or explore the cyberpunk genre’s deployment of techno-orientalism in its treatment of Asian culture and characters, which is a huge missed opportunity in a game that spends so much time ruminating on the mistakes of the past, and how one might repair them. A transphobic ad is still plastered across nearly every surface in the game, monopolizing vision in a way that does not even line up with real-world advertising practices. With this game’s long tail of updates, there are seemingly infinite chances to go deeper, to rethink some assumptions, and to engage with the genre at least as fully as its founding texts did. Yet none of these things were deemed patch-worthy. It is more substantive, apparently, to make sure there are new apartments and cars and guns. Right off the bat, turn Film Grainoff. Film grain is a graphical filter that is applied over the game to give it a specific style. Turning it off will make the game look more crisp. Whenever a game is released on PC, you can always count on the community to do what the developers won't (or in most cases can't) and mod it in every way imaginable. This goes for good games but is especially important for games that came out in a state most wouldn't consider acceptable. For a game like Cyberpunk 2077, which has now become synonymous with terms like "rushed," "lazy," and "disaster," to name a few, mods might be your best chance at enjoying the game at all as the developers struggle to fix their game years after release.

All in, it doesn’t matter if you play Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS5 or Xbox Series, since you will be getting the identical experience. The game has been improved with the new changes so if you haven’t played it yet, now is the time to jump in. Go on daring adventures and build relationships with unforgettable characters whose fates are shaped by the choices you make. We also have the much-requested 60FPS performance mode coming to Xbox Series S consoles. This was something players have been asking about since our new-gen update, and it’s great to say that we have put the work in to make sure this feature is now available. In this mode, the game aims for 60FPS at 900p with dynamic resolution scaling in the 800-1080p range.Photo mode is one of the most popular tools in the game. We see players sharing amazing shots on social media, and we’ve even hosted Photo Mode Challenges for our community to take part in. So how do we make it even better? Easy: Cats. Well, one cat in particular – Nibbles! With this update, once you’ve gained the trust of Nibbles and he’s made himself at home in your apartment, you can now pose with him in photo mode anywhere in Night City! Our prediction is that Nibbles will be popping up more and more on social media now that he’s ready for the spotlight. Introduces new features such as the Wardrobe clothing transmog system, playable Roach Race arcade minigame, cross-platform saves, Nibbles in photo mode, and more. Cyberpunk 2077 has been upgraded for both the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. If you have already played the game, is the upgrade worth it? Cyberpunk 2077 will come with a day one patch that offers several next-gen improvements to the Xbox One version when played on the Xbox Series X system. The exact details haven't been shared, but are likely to include improved load times, frame rate, and visuals. Original story: After teases, and some leaks, Microsoft has revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition Xbox One X console bundle. The console is set to launch in June, three months before the Cyberpunk's September 17 release date.

The free Update 2.0 brings brand new ways to play Cyberpunk 2077, including totally redesigned perks and cyberware systems, pulsating vehicle combat and car chases, a revamped police system, enhanced enemy combat AI, and more. If you felt like Cyberpunk 2077 was just missing too many significant features and cut pieces of content, then you should know that most of those features still aren’t in the game. We probably won’t see those kinds of significant additions to Cyberpunk 2077 until the game’s Phantom Liberty DLC and New Game+ mode are eventually released. Cyberpunk 2077 still isn’t the game some (including those who worked on the game) built it up to be. Obviously, these changes are purely visual and won’t squeeze out any additional frames, impact load times, or anything like that. Still, the impact properly set HDR settings can have on a game like this is very striking.
